Year 2

Music

Our Music lessons are themed alongside our topic of Dinosaurs. We will build upon on the skills and knowledge in music each week.

In today's session we will be learning how to sing alongside a melody.

Task 1:

Today we are thinking about being musicians and singers. What do we need to be good musicians and singers?

Can you make a list of what we would need to be good musicians and singers?

Possible answers could include ideas such as:

We need ears for listening, eyes for looking at lyrics, mouths for speaking and singing, arms for playing instruments, brains for thinking about what to do and say.

Task 2:

Today we are going to make our own dinosaur song. Let’s recap the dinosaur knowledge we have from our topic lessons. Can you note down anything you can remember from our topic sessions about dinosaurs? For example, the T-Rex has short arms and powerful legs.
If you need some ideas for Dinosaur information the Dinosaur eBook is below.
We are going to use this information to make a dinosaur song. Use the link below for your melody and add your dinosaur lyrics to the melody to create your own song. You can send your song lyrics or performance of your song to your class teacher on dojo to earn points.

Phonics

In Key Stage One phonics is taught in phonics groups rather than classes. The phonics groups each work at a different ability level, therefore there are different phonics videos for each group. Your child will know who their phonics teacher is, but if you need clarification please message your child's class teacher on class dojo for confirmation.

Please see the links below.
