This half term we will be focusing on Creation Stories. 

Today we will be finding the similarities and differences between the Christian and Hindu Creation Stories. 

Task 1:

Creation stories are stories about how the Earth and life on it began. Each religion has it's own Creation Story. Let's recap the Christian and Hindu Creation stories by watching the videos below.

Task 2:

Now that we have reminded ourselves about the Christian and Hindu Creation Stories, can you think about what is similar (the same or close to the same) and what is different (not the same) about the Creation stories. The Year 1 and Year 2 writing templates are below. The Year 1 children can draw pictures of what they think is similar and different about the two Creation stories whilst the Year 2 children can write sentences. 

For example:

Similarity- Both Creation stories focus on God creating the world.

Difference- The Hindu Creation story explains that there is more than 1 God and the Christian Creation story explains that there is only 1 God. 

Task 3: 

Discussion circle time!

How do you think the world was made?

We are going to create a class mind map of ideas about how the children believe the world was made. There may be lots of different ideas during this talk time and we show respect when others share their thoughts.
