Woodpeckers and Hummingbirds Phonics

Maths - Ladybird doubling - with symmetry

Can you make yourself a few ladybird templates ready. Then if you have some paint have a go at painting some spots on one side of your ladybird. Carefully fold your paper in half and then see what the double is. Look how the pattern is symmetrical because you have pressed the paint from one side to the other.

If you don't have paint, see if you can draw some spots on either side of your ladybird to make them symmetrical. Count one side, then the other - if each side is the same you have made a double!

A walk and a bug hunt!

Head out on a walk around you local area and whilst on your travels, can you spot any minibeasts? If you are unable to go out on a walk, just have a look in your garden. Why not try looking under rocks, logs and sticks to see what you find.
