Symmetry butterfly

How to make a symmetry butterfly.

1. Fold your piece of paper in half.

2. Draw half a butterfly.

3. Carefully cut it out and open up the paper.

4. Cut out shapes. Make sure there is enough for one on each side of your butterfly.

5. Stick your shapes on your butterfly. Make sure it is exactly the same in both sides.

You might want to draw or paint on your butterfly. Just make sure it's the same both sides - symmetrical!

Toilet Roll Hair Cuts

For this activity you can either use toilet rolls or you can make some cylinders with plain paper. Add a funny face to you cylinder and then practise you scissor skills by giving it a funky hair cut.

Mindfulness Basket

Make your very own mindfulness basket by looking round the house for things that help you to be calm and take a moment for yourself. These item could include:

  • a mindfulness bottle (if you haven't made one yet, why not try it)
  • a blanket or your favourite cuddly toy
  • some bubbles
  • bubble wrap (spend time popping the bubbles one by one)
  • a colouring book and pencils
  • your favourite book
  • a fidget toy
  • some playdough or flour in a balloon to make your own stress ball
