Welcome to our Year 3 team
Our Team (from left to right)
Welcome to our wonderful Year 3 class.
Where has the year gone to?
I can’t believe we are into the final term already!
I am again very proud of all the children's achievements and the fantastic progress they have all made this half term. I am a very lucky teacher to have such enthusiastic learners.
We all had a great time learning about plants and informing the ‘aliens’ of our knowledge of Mrs Gren, pollination and the life cycle of plants, to enable them to grow plants on their planet.
The children amazed me with their knowledge and their incredible art work linked to our topic.
We have loved reading and comparing books by Anthony Browne. The children asked some very profound questions and were inspired to write extremely emotive descriptions in first person. Well done everybody.
If that wasn't enough.. we even showcased an Oscar winning performance of 'Porridge'. The children excelled at learning their lines, singing, acting, stage direction, music and even light technicians! What a wonderful team effort!
We will be starting our fifth topic after Easter called:
We will become ‘Roman Soldiers’ as we battle through, solving mysteries to strengthen our army. We will learn about the Roman Empire, Boudicca, Weapons and the Roman Legacies.
We will be using the internet to carry out research and be working collaboratively to solve ‘Learn 2 Learn’ activities.
Our literacy and art will also be linked to the topic, where we will be getting creative writing Roman play-scripts, non-chronological reports and producing art inspired by the Romans.
We have two Roman experts visiting Homefields to share their knowledge and artefacts on Monday 20th May.
It is going to be another creative topic. We are all very excited!
