Message from the teachers:

After the holidays we will begin our new topic ‘Toys’. On Monday 26th February we have asked the children to choose and bring a toy to school that they would like to talk about. If you have any old toys that we could show the children during this topic please let us know.

After the holidays we will be writing our weekly newsletter straight onto the School webpage. You can find it by following this link

Or by going onto the school website, children, class pages, Mrs Heald and clicking on Newsletters.

Have a wonderful half term holiday!

This week’s learning:

This week the children have been investigating the properties of 2D and 3D shapes. They’ve sorted shapes choosing their own criteria on a Venn diagram and have been painting shapes. See if they can tell you how many edges a hexagon or pentagon have. Can the Y2 tell you what a quadrilateral is? Can they tell you what a vertices is?

This week’s learning:

The children have been learning about adverbs this week and have been using them in sentences. They’ve written their recounts of Disneyland Day and we have been celebrating their work!

This week’s learning:

We’ve loved this topic! The children have been thinking about how they would develop the plot of land next to school taking inspiration from landmarks around the world. There were quite a few interesting ideas!

In our first week back, we will be asking grandparents/relatives about their favourite toys they played with when they were younger. The children will bring home questions to ask as part of their homework.

Our certificate winner this week is...
