School Values

Be Kind, Be Courageous, Be Respectful

At Homefields Primary School we pride ourselves on how our school feels like a family, where each individual is cherished and nurtured to be the best they can be. We believe that each individual has the right to feel safe, loved and respected. That children and adults alike should be happy and able to work in a calm, positive and supportive environment. We encourage all to maintain the highest of standards, so that adults and children alike reflect the ethos of the school. We teach the importance of our core values of 'Be Kind, Be Courageous, Be Respectful' to ensure that we are the best that we can be.

Our School Values

Or School values were created by staff and children. We looked at what it was like to be part of our Homefields family and what we wanted for the children, the staff and for visitors to our school.

ATTITUDES TO LEARNING

Our schools learning attitudes support our core values and ensure that children are taught the life skills of how to become a positive learner in both their academic and personal learning journeys.

We feel it is important that the children develop a set of key skills and attitudes that will best equip them for learning throughout their lives. These skills and attitudes help children develop self-awareness and resilience in learning; to transfer skills and learning from one context to another and to understand how they learn best and to use them effectively.

Our key attitudes are:

  • Resilient
  • Reflective
  • Reciprocal
  • Responsible
  • Resourceful

Skills Based Curriculum Aims

  1. Successful learners, who enjoy learning, make progress and achieve.
  2. Confident individuals who are able to live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives.
  3. Responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society.

Our curriculum is organised in such a way that these skills and attitudes develop as part of our everyday learning.
