Nursery Admissions

Three Year Old Nursery Admission Policy

At Homefields our main nursery intake is in September at the start of the academic year for children who have turned three by the 31st August.

You may apply for a nursery place for your child any time after their second birthday. We will need to see proof of their date of birth and your address at this time. Children will then be added to our waiting list.

Applications for a Homefields Nursery place (September start) need to be made prior to the 31st March deadline.

Any applications made after the admissions deadline will be classed as “late” and considered after all “on time” applications have been dealt with.

There may be a further intake of children in January if there are spaces remaining for children on our waiting list that have turned three prior to December 31st.

Please note the nursery admissions criteria below:

  1. Children who are ’Looked after’ in accordance with section 22 of the Children Act 1989.
  2. Children who are on the Child Protection Register and live in the normal area served by the school.
  3. Children who are the subject of a statutory assessment of special educational needs and live in the normal area served by the school.
  4. Children who are both living in the normal catchment area of the school and have siblings of compulsory school age attending the school at the time of admission.
  5. Children from the normal area of the school in date of birth order.
  6. Children from the wider area of the school in date of birth order who have siblings attending school at the time of admission.
  7. Children from the wider area of the school in date of birth order.

NOTES:

For the purpose of admissions we class a sibling as:

Some parents will be eligible to receive 30 hours per week of funded childcare. If they are not eligible for this, they will still be eligible for 15 hours of funded childcare per week. Homefields Primary School will evaluate the needs of the community and would always want to offer a range of provision to best meet the varying needs of families.

Homefields Primary school will offer places to accommodate both 30 hours and 15 hour places. This will be offered as follows.

Option 1: 30 hours – Monday – Friday 9am – 3.30pm (this equates to 32.5 hours and parents are asked to pay the additional 2.5hours per week)

Option 2: 15 hours – Monday – Friday 9am – 12am

Option 3: 15 hours – Monday – Friday 12.30pm – 3.30pm.

If parents are eligible for 30 hours of funded care then they can choose option 1 and purchase extra hours of care via Breakfast club/After school club.

Parents must provide packed lunches for the days when the child/ren stay all day. Lunch times will be supervised by qualified early years teaching assistants to ensure there is a ratio of at least 1 adult to 8 children.
